CAUSES OF BONE CANCER

The exact reason of bone cancer is not properly known. However, it is known that an error in a cell’s DNA causes the formation of bone cancer. It is the error or DNA mutation that makes the cell to grow and divide in an uncontrolled manner. Instead of dying at a fixed time, they keep on living and dividing. The mutated cells that are accumulated, forms a lump or mass that can spread to other parts of the body. Mutations can occur due to cancer-causing chemicals or because of the exposure to radiation.
Various types of bone cancers include:
·         Chondrosarcoma- it begins to form in cartilage cells. This condition is generally found in older or middle-aged adults. The symptoms generally occur in legs, arms or pelvis region.

·         Ewing’s Sarcoma- the exact location where it begins is not known, but the tumors generally begin to form in the arms or legs or the pelvis region of young adults or children.
